Australia’s leading travel retailer, Flight Centre is about to publish its hottest destinations for 2020 in its highly anticipated Wow List, with the glossy magazine due to hit the streets on the 5th December 2019.

The Wow List is created annually by detailed analysis of extensive customer data, consultation with product experts and accessing the collective know-how of the wide network of Flight Centre travel experts to come up with the top 50 inspirational must-do experiences for the year ahead.

Graham Turner, Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Flight Centre reflected on the evolution of the Wow List. He said, "As time goes on, much more of Flight Centre’s business is complex international travel and this is what our customers want and how they want to travel – for the experience. This is the future of travel, and the Wow List of the 50 must-have travel experiences for 2020 really highlights the expertise of our consultants to assist our customers in planning something exciting and different when they travel."

Supported by both online content and a premium publication, the Wow List destination stories are written by Flight Centre’s own experienced staff, who set off to every corner of the globe each year researching and calling the next hot trends in travel.

Luke Wheatley, Head of Creative and Content for Flight Centre, is the mastermind behind the creation of the annual Wow List. “Each year’s list is inspiring; we look forward to sharing engaging, evocative content to highlight our top picks for the year ahead,” he said.

“The hot destinations chosen for 2020 feature unforgettable traveller experiences, supported by amazing visuals that really bring the Wow List to life,” said Wheatley.

Flight Centre’s Wow List has singled out four of the best to get the travel bug buzzing. Whether it is catching a ride on the Glacier Express through the soaring Swiss Alps or losing yourself in the overwhelming beauty of the Yukon, there is something to satiate every traveller’s wanderlust.

2020 Wow List Top Four snapshot:

1. Great Barrier Reef - Heron Island – A sea lover and diver’s dream, the reefs are pristine with an abundance of sea life. Swim with a 60-year-old turtle or two and experience the magnificent reef in all its natural glory.

2. Yukon, Canada – Immerse yourself in this winter wonderland while gazing at nature’s spectacular light display, the northern lights, as you explore the untamed wilderness of the Yukon. See incredible wildlife up close and meander through quaint towns while enjoying cozy lodge accommodation set among the backdrop of wild Canada.

3. The Grand Train Tour of Switzerland – Enjoy the service of your own private butler on the Glacier Express as you marvel at the jaw-dropping scenery of the Swiss Alps - an Instagrammer’s dream of chocolate-box beauty.

4. Avignon to Lyon – A foodie’s idea of gastronomic heaven, taking in two of the most renowned food and wine regions in France. Travelling on a Viking River Cruise, the cuisine, wine and incredible scenery will whet the appetite and stimulate the senses.

Each of the Wow List’s four feature journeys is captured by extensive and evocative digital content, fronted by the Flight Centre’s own travel experts, that has been created to visually illustrate the unique signature experiences.
