The countdown is on!
There is only one week to go until the highly anticipated launch of Flight Centre’s Wow List 2020 magazine; the expert’s guide to the top 50 travel experiences for the year ahead.
Published annually by Flight Centre, the Wow List mines extensive customer data collated from more than 800 stores Australia wide for insights into the travel experiences customers want.
This customer data, combined with comprehensive consultation with its own in-house travel experts and a vast understanding of the travel industry, allows Flight Centre to compile a guide to the top 50 travel experiences for the upcoming year.
At the forefront of this year’s Wow List are four selected experiences, fronted by Flight Centre travel experts, who share their passion for travel and extensive industry knowledge through the four focus experiences including:
Dive the Great Barrier Reef around Heron Island; wonder at the natural beauty and see the Northern Lights in the Yukon, Canada; Travel Switzerland by rail and experience southern France on a Viking river cruise from Avignon to Lyon.
Take a look at the highlights of all four Wow List experiences here:
Isabella Modra, one of the four Flight Centre travel experts featured in the video experiences and a manager at Flight Centre Marion in South Australia, says each of the 50 wow experiences are “tried and tested” by company experts before making the list.
“We will book our clients on guided tours with only the most trusted companies to ensure the best and most memorable experience,” she said.
“The Wow List is designed to showcase unique, jaw-dropping places in the world that promise to deliver not just a ‘holiday’, but an experience.”
Travelling to see the northern lights in Yukon, Canada for her ‘wow’ experience, Isabella described the trip as “breathtaking” and one that “more than lives up to the slogan of “larger than life”.
“The Yukon is a multi-dimensional, northern winter escape full of natural wonders, dramatic wilderness landscapes and rich in history that will take your breath away,” she said.
“As for the northern lights... it’s a phenomenon you see in pictures constantly but can never imagine quite what it feels like to stand outside in the snow looking up at a nebula of light changing shape in the sky upon a blanket of stars.”
“Every moment was a natural wonder, even as simple as the sunlight reflected on a frozen patch of snow… I had the feeling that is was on an entirely different planet.”
Isabella is featured alongside Flight Centre rail expert Rylie Heathfield (St Kilda, VIC), marine biologist turned Flight Centre travel expert Nicky Rundel (Claremont, WA) and cruise specialist Anna Shannon (Top Ryde, NSW) in videos that will to bring the ‘wow’ to customers’ holidays in the upcoming year.
Each of their four feature journeys is captured by extensive and evocative digital content that has been created to visually illustrate the unique signature experiences.
The Travel ideas: Wow List 2020 magazine will be available from Flight Centre stores and online from 5th December, 2019, the official launch date.
